Age and Consent Rules

  • Tattoo: 18+ absolute (criminal offence under Tattooing of Minors Act 1969).
  • Piercing: consent allowed, parent must be present.
  • Intimate piercing: 18+ only.
  • Wales: Tattooing anyone under 18 is a criminal offence under the Tattooing of Minors Act 1969.
  • Wales: Intimate piercings (tongue, genital, nipple) on anyone under 18 are prohibited by the Public Health (Wales) Act 2017.

Licensing Requirements
