Age and Consent Rules
- Tattoo: 18+ absolute (criminal offence under Tattooing of Minors Act 1969).
- Piercing: consent allowed, parent must be present.
- Intimate piercing: 18+ only.
- Wales: Tattooing anyone under 18 is a criminal offence under the Tattooing of Minors Act 1969.
- Wales: Intimate piercings (tongue, genital, nipple) on anyone under 18 are prohibited by the Public Health (Wales) Act 2017.
Licensing Requirements
- Practitioner registration required (Practitioner Registration Number).
- IPC certificate required (RSPH Level 2 IPC Certificate).
