Age and Consent Rules
- Tattoo: 18+ absolute, no parental consent pathway.
- Piercing: consent allowed, mode: parent must be present.
- Intimate piercing: 18+ only.
- TAS: Piercing under 16 requires parent/guardian to be physically present during the procedure.
Licensing Requirements
- TAS requires both personal operator licences and premises licences under the Public Health Act 1997. Licences have expiry dates and must be renewed.
- Practitioner licence required (Personal Operator Licence Number).
Sterilisation and Record-Keeping
- Sterilisation records required.
- Retention period: 12 months.
- Sterilisation records recommended. Biological indicator testing recommended but not mandated.
